If elected I will utilize my extensive experience in municipal governance to provide trustworthy and locally focused representation. I will search out and support opportunities to improve services and reduce cost. I will stand-up to needless expenditures and make-work projects. I will energetically support the quality lifestyle opportunities, that living in the County offers. My skills and training in customer service will ensure timely and helpful feedback for resident thoughts and concerns.

Key Priorities

  • Resident focused representation emphasizing fiscally responsible decision making;

  • Provide balance and accountability in council’s spending and decision-making process.

  • Review expenditures and find efficiencies to minimize property tax burden;

  • Work collaboratively with other municipalities to find cost savings and opportunity;

  • Continual improvement of Emergency Services, Water Utilities, Waste/Recycling , and Road Maintenance.

Quality of Life

  • Support protections for property owners to deter encroachment from adjacent development;

  • Explore property tax reduction opportunities for senior home owners;

  • Support for community halls and recreational opportunities within the county;

  • Support choices to promote healthy communities (i.e. Access to greenspace);

  • Explore opportunities for the addition of bus service to and from hamlets and villages.

Business

  • Promote and support sustainable growth within the Acheson Business District to ensure the long-term viability of the area;

  • Support local business and entrepreneurs through the creation of incentives and removal of barriers.

Environment

  • Support the protection of riparian areas and other sensitive landscape features (i.e. Chickakoo Hills, Wabamun Lake, and other locations) within the County.

  • Support protections for municipal and environmental reserve lands within the County

Agriculture

  • Work to create protections for existing agricultural lands;

  • Provide supports for viable long term agricultural business in the County.

About

Jason and his family moved to Parkland County in 2014 to enjoy the quality of life that the County has in past offered. Jason is the County’s former Solid Waste Coordinator. Over his 12 year tenure with Parkland County Jason brought integrity and skillful determination to improve services and infrastructure within Solid Waste Services, while instilling a passion for customer service amongst the team. If elected, Jason will bring that experience and determination to Council to provide locally focused and trustworthy representation.

Experience

  • Solid Waste/Recycling Planning Consultant (Current) - Providing solutions for municipal clients to improve solid waste and recycling services in an efficient, environmentally responsible, and cost effective manner;

  • Parkland County Solid Waste and Recycling Coordinator (2009-2022) -Municipal experience in solid waste, road maintenance, water and wastewater, and facility maintenance. Project design and construction for the Parkland County Waste Transfer Station (PCTS);

  • Inter-Community Collaboration Representative for regional Waste and Recycling - Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, and Parkland County;

  • Alberta Competitive Fly Fishing - President, Founder and Volunteer Coaching;

  • Representative for Team Canada at 2009 and 2012 Commonwealth Fly Fishing Championships

  • STAR Customer Service Award - Excellence in Customer Service;

  • Incident Command Training for Disaster Response.

  • Parkland Minor Ball Volunteer Coach 2025
